This was the second show this year in the Boise area and therefore yet another road trip from Utah to attend. This show was as good an anything I've seen in the past 5 years. I grew up in Idaho (albeit the other side of the state) and I am very please to have experienced this event here. The venue was wonderful site on the Boise river with a perfect breeze coming down the canyon, wading and all-round good vibes.
I notice this band getting tighter and moving ever onward in forging new musical territory. Mark Karan was amazing as always. It is also now clearly evident to me why Jeff and Kenny are in the band... this night belonged to them. It was also an amazing night with the musical nuggets added when Karl Denson joined in. Praise-be to one who figured out that would be a good mix!
In general the show was one with many feel-good moments. Beginning with Odessa, through Dear Prudence, Bury Me Standing, Good Morning Little School Girl, Greatest Story Ever Told, Aiko Aiko, jamming and a Broken Down Palace the music moved perfectly from one place to the next taking the crowd along for the best ride this summer.
I can't overemphasize how great this was to me.
