Reviews
The show on September 23rd at the Florida Music Harvest was the best I've seen this year. Obviously, there was a lot of patriotic sentiment in the air, and the band emphasized this by doing the 'Star Spangled Banner' and then a U.S. Blues encore, even though as Bobby said, they weren't quite finished practicing the number. They pulled it off perfectly. The sound was righteous, and the band really looked like they were full of energy and also very in-tune with the audience, with Bobby not remembering the opening words to 'Help On the Way', then getting them from a voice in the crowd. He actually had his hand up to his ear listening for the cue. The tamborine in "sampson and Delilah ' was off-beat. Other than that, the entire show was a great example of experimental, fun jamming music. I really can't remember seeing Weir so energetic. It was great.
