What a difference a day makes! Last night (3/3/04) was SMOKIN! Okay, so yesterday was not so great, but they came back with both barrels and pulled it out last night--a hot night with lots of charge start to finish. Not as crowded at the Fillmore, but the usual suspects were better behaved than Tuesday, better timing, in synch on stage, what to say? Ratdog plain and simple blew us away with a high-energy blast of non-stop good ol' Ratdog itensity, and it was a welcome experience. Out the shoot with Playin > Big Boss > Miracle, and that was just to get us started. Bobby's voice work was dead on (pardon the pun) and never missed. Weather Report Suite was soulful and fine like wine, Big RR Blues, Corrina, October Queen, Slipknot, on and on (you can get the setlist--too many gems to mention here). As I suspected, everyone has an off night on Tuesday. I stand ready to offer a humble redemption to them for Wednesday; God, it was one incredible show! I mean, just awesome. Way to go!
