A little background (not braggin')... been seeing the Dead since 1972 and this was one of the nicest shows I've ever seen. I mean I was smiles all night. Great venue with excellent sight lines, good A/C, good waitresses, and in a fun neighborhood. I may sound like a homer but I had not been to "The Pageant" previously and I loved it. The band was tight, setlist was full of my faves and the folks in the crowd were groovy. Did get a copuple of beers swiped, though. Lights were mediocre. Sound was good but had a few rough spots. I am not gong to get into the arcane details, just that it was like a compressed GD concert form the 1980s and whenever you get three shots of Terrapin and two of Dark Star and an accoustic Peggy-O, life is good. And if you ever want to HEAR a great show, head to the Blue Note in Columbia, MO. It is an old vaudeville/movie theater. Not fancy but the SOUNDS are great there.
